Looking for a fun and easy outing with your little one? One of the best free resources we have right here in the New River Valley is our local libraries! Our New River Valley Storytime & Playgroup Guide makes it easy to find storytimes, playgroups, and early literacy activities for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and kids of all ages in Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Radford, Pulaski, Dublin, Floyd, Shawsville, Pearisburg, Narrows, and throughout the surrounding NRV.
Library storytime is one of those simple outings that checks so many boxes. Kids get to listen to books, sing songs, move around, meet other children, and build those important early literacy and social skills — and parents and caregivers get a chance to get out of the house and connect with other local families, too. Best of all, most library storytimes are completely FREE!
Whether you have a busy toddler, a book-loving preschooler, or just need something fun to add to your week, there is almost always something happening at a library near you. Bookmark this page and check back often as we keep adding storytimes and family programs from across the New River Valley.
Please note that storytime schedules can change due to holidays, school closings, and special events. We do our best to ensure you have the most up to date information, but if in doubt please check with the specific library.
